46 x 49 x h80,5 cm (seat h. 46 cm)

The "Chaise Tout Bois" is the only chair created by industrial designer Jean Prouvé entirely out of wood. Derived from the Standard chair, developed in 1934 with a metallic structure. The shortage on metal during World War II incited Jean Prouvé to develop a solid oak structure, a wood essence chosen for its robustness. The construction of the "Chaise Tout Bois" requires no screw. The seat height and the backrest angle are identical to the Standard chair, responding to the same ergonomy and sturdiness requirements. In 1947, the design wins the ‘Meubles de France' contest, highlighting it's quality and practicality in a society in full reconstruction and development.
