The Florence Knoll Coffee Table, designed to furnish the new public and private interiors of postwar America, is Knoll's scaled-down interpretation of the lines, gestures and materials of 1960's America. The table has a spare, geometric presence, in line with all of her designs, reflecting the rational design approach shelearned from Mies van der Rohe.

Frames are rectangular or square, of welded steel with polished or chrome finish, clear glass or a variety of marble tops.

Marble versions are coated with a transparent polyester finish to eliminate use-associated stains.
