Platner felt "there was room for the kind of decorative, gentle, graceful design that appeared in period style like Louis XV, but it could have a more rational base instead of being applied decoration". He decided the support needn't be separated from the object and created a chair that "starts at the floor and comes up and envelops you, supports you".

Curved steel wire rods in bright nickel finish with clear lacquer protection or painted bronze metallic. Molded fibreglass shell and foam cushion in a variety of fabrics.
