The PK9's singular shape is characterised by three pieces of satinbrushed stainless spring steel forming a column to support the seating element. Poul Kjærholm was inspired by a sand imprint of his wife's behind from a day at the beach. Later, during the design process, Hanne Kjærholm sat in boxes of clay to find the most optimal and comfortable solution.
The seat is fully upholstered chair in a limited range of leather types.
