The Oxford™ chair was handcrafted and designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1965 for the professors at St Catherine's College in Oxford. A symbol of prestige and status, the high back and smooth, curved veneer form invoked a sense of space and privacy. The design evolved over time into today's Oxford™ Classic.
The fully upholstered shell is available in a wide range of textile and leather types.
The base can be configured with either casters with aluminium housing (height adjustable with tilt mechanism) or black-grey plastic toes (fixed seat height with spring function). The base comes in satin polished aluminium (standard) or mirror chrome.
